„Wolfen Nord“ dokumentiert den Niedergang eines sozialistischen Neubauzentrums aus den 50iger Jahren, 15 Jahre nach der friedlichen Revolution. Eine Vision, für tausend Jahre gedacht, findet hier ihr Ende und zeigt darüber hinaus, die Entwicklung einer Stadt aus der Retorte, einem „Arbeiterwohnschliessfach“. Die Gebliebenen sind die Verlassenen. Riesige Skulpturen ihrer Lebendigkeit beraubt, hinterlassen ein Vakuum. Suchend stehe ich an der Demakartionslinie. Das gewaltsame Pochen des Presslufthammers kann das Schweigen des Schockes nicht ertragen. Zukunft ist etwas was seine Spuren in der Vergangenheit hinterlässt. Dieser Vergangenheit folgend, zeigt die Kamera die subjektive Essenz eines Stillstehenden, eines Fortwährenden. Der Soundtrack des Filmes nimmt Samples einiger der Protagonisten als „Geisterstimmen“ auf - andererseits entwickelt er ein Eigenleben. Gerade der Gegensatz von kühler Elektronik mit Granular Synthese und Frequenz Modulationen besticht als verstörende Methapher.

„Wolfen Nord” is a movie which documents the fall of a socialist „Neubaugebiet“ (a New Building style in Germany developed in the 1950´s). Now, fifteen years after the peaceful revolution, the vision intended for the past millennium has reached its conclusion. The response beyond this is the development of the „Arbeiter-schließfach“ (blocks referred to as „worker lockers”). Those that remained have left. A vacuum has been created within these enormous sculptures that represent these former domiciles: in a search of meaning within this landscape, the cinematic presence approaches the demarcation of habitude and vacated habituation. The pounding force of pneumatic hammers bears out a silence that can bring only shock. The future is something that leaves only traces in the past; following this past, the camera shows the subjective essence of a time standing still. The Soundtrack of the movie develope an own life with his mix of samples from some of the protagonists, cool avantgarde electronic, processed fieldrecordings, Granular Synthese and Frequenz Modulation. The movie finaly generate a disturbing metaphor.
